The friends feature enables users to discover and connect with new people on the platform. This boosts user engagement and retention, creating a more interactive and social experience on the website. In the Site roles module, you can restrict private messages to be sent only between friends.
To enable or disable Friends System:
- Click on the Menu.
- Select Settings from the side navigation menu.
- Choose General Settings
- Find Friend System.
- Select your preferred Option.
- Click the “Update” button.
To respond to pending friend requests:
- Click on the Menu.
- Select Friends from the side navigation menu.
- Click on the three dots next to the request you wish to respond to.
- Select your preferred Option.
To view sent requests or friends:
- Click on the Menu.
- Select Friends from the side navigation menu.
- At the top of the list, click on the “Friends” title (with an arrow) to reveal a dropdown menu.
- Select your preferred Option.
To limit private messages to be sent only between friends:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
- Select Site Roles.
- Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to modify.
- Choose “Edit”.
- Deselect “Message Non-Friends” under the “Private Conversations” section.
- Click the “Update” button.
To prevent users from viewing friends, sending friend requests, or receiving friend requests:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
- Select Site Roles.
- Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to modify.
- Choose “Edit”.
- Deselect “View Friends”, “Send Requests”, or “Receive Requests” under the Friends section, depending on your preferences.
- Click the “Update” button.
