The friends feature enables users to discover and connect with new people on the platform. This boosts user engagement and retention, creating a more interactive and social experience on the website. In the Site roles module, you can restrict private messages to be sent only between friends.

To enable or disable Friends System:

  1. Click on the Menu.
  2. Select Settings from the side navigation menu.
  3. Choose General Settings
  4. Find Friend System.
  5. Select your preferred Option.
  6. Click the “Update” button.

To respond to pending friend requests:

  1. Click on the Menu.
  2. Select Friends from the side navigation menu.
  3. Click on the three dots next to the request you wish to respond to.
  4. Select your preferred Option.

To view sent requests or friends:

  1. Click on the Menu.
  2. Select Friends from the side navigation menu.
  3. At the top of the list, click on the “Friends” title (with an arrow) to reveal a dropdown menu.
  4. Select your preferred Option.

To limit private messages to be sent only between friends:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
  3. Select Site Roles.
  4. Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to modify.
  5. Choose “Edit”.
  6. Deselect “Message Non-Friends” under the “Private Conversations” section.
  7. Click the “Update” button.

To prevent users from viewing friends, sending friend requests, or receiving friend requests:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
  3. Select Site Roles.
  4. Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to modify.
  5. Choose “Edit”.
  6. Deselect “View Friends”, “Send Requests”, or “Receive Requests” under the Friends section, depending on your preferences.
  7. Click the “Update” button.
