Group members are the individuals who have joined and are part of a specific group. Group members can be assigned specific group roles. Group roles define their permissions and responsibilities within the group.
How to add a site user to a group as a group member ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the Group
- Choose “Members”
- Click on the Plus Icon at the bottom right of the content area.
- Click the three dots icon next to the User you want to add
- Select “Add to Group”
Note : If you want to add users in bulk, click the selection icon at the top right next to the “Members” title, select the users, and then click the “+” (plus) symbol at the bottom right.
How to invite users to join a group ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the Group
- Choose “Invite Users”
- Enter the usernames or email addresses of users (including non-site users) in the Email/Username field, each separated by a new line.
- Click the “Invite” button.
Note: You can also copy the link displayed in the “Invite Link” field and share it with others to join the group.
How to view online users in a group ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the Group
- Choose “Members”
- At the top of the list, click on the “Members” title (with an arrow) to reveal a dropdown menu.
- Choose “Online”.
How to change a group member’s group role ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group you want to modify.
- Choose “Members”.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group members you want to modify.
- Choose “Edit Group Role”.
- Find and change the group role to your preferred option in the “Edit Group Role” screen.
- Click the “Update” button.
How to ban or unban a group member ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group you want to modify.
- Choose “Members”.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group members you want to ban/unban.
- Select “Ban from Group” to ban a member and “Unban from Group” to unban them.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.
Note: You can also access these options by clicking on a username in the group conversation. Click on the username in their message to open their profile, then click on the options menu and select your preferred choice.
How to ban a group member temporarily ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group you want to modify.
- Choose “Members”.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group member you want to ban.
- Select “Temporary Ban”.
- In the screen that appears, select the date until which the member will be banned from the group.
- Click Ban
How to join a group as a member ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the Group
- Choose “Join Group”
How to leave a group ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the Group
- Choose “Leave Group”
How to remove a group member ?
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group you want to modify.
- Choose “Members”.
- Click the three dots icon next to the group members you want to modify.
- Choose “Remove From Group”.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.
