Site roles refer to the different levels of access and responsibilities assigned to users on your online platform. Site roles help manage permissions and control what each user can see and do. You can create your own custom site roles to tailor user permissions and access according to your specific needs.
What is Role hierarchy ?
Role hierarchy functions as a system of levels, where a site role with a higher hierarchy value holds more authority than roles with lower hierarchy values.
To create a site role:
- Click on the Menu.
- Select Modules from the side navigation menu.
- Choose Site Roles.
- Click on the Plus Icon at the bottom right of the content area.
- Enter the details for the new site role in the “Add Site Role” screen that appears.
- Select or deselect the permissions or features you want to grant or prevent for the site role.
- Click the “Create” button.
To change a user’s site role:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Site Users in the side navigation menu.
- Select View All.
- Click the three dots icon next to the user you want to modify.
- Choose “Edit Profile”.
- Find and change the site role to your preferred option in the “Edit Profile” screen.
- Click the “Update” button.
To edit a site role:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
- Select Site Roles.
- Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to modify.
- Choose “Edit”.
- Make the necessary changes in the “Edit Site Role” screen.
- Click the “Update” button.
To delete a site role:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
- Select Site Roles.
- Click the three dots icon next to the site role you want to delete.
- Choose “Delete”. A confirmation dialog will appear. Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.
To bulk delete site roles:
- Click on Menu.
- Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
- Select Site Roles.
- Click the selection icon at the top right next to the site roles title.
- Select the roles you want to delete.
- Click the X icon that appears at the bottom right.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
