Group roles refer to the different levels of access and responsibilities assigned to members within a group. Group roles help manage permissions and control what each group member can see and do. You can create your own custom group roles to tailor user permissions and access according to your specific needs.

What is Role hierarchy ?

Role hierarchy functions as a system of levels, where a group role with a higher hierarchy value holds more authority than roles with lower hierarchy values.

To create a group role:

  1. Click on the Menu.
  2. Select Modules from the side navigation menu.
  3. Choose Group Roles.
  4. Click on the Plus Icon at the bottom right of the content area.
  5. Enter the details for the new group role in the “Add Group Role” screen that appears.
  6. Select or deselect the permissions or features you want to grant or prevent for the grouprole.
  7. Click the “Create” button.

To change a group member’s group role:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Groups in the side navigation menu.
  3. Click the three dots icon next to the group you want to modify.
  4. Choose “Members”.
  5. Click the three dots icon next to the group members you want to modify.
  6. Choose “Edit Group Role”.
  7. Find and change the group role to your preferred option in the “Edit Group Role” screen.
  8. Click the “Update” button.

To edit a group role:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
  3. Select Group Roles.
  4. Click the three dots icon next to the group role you want to modify.
  5. Choose “Edit”.
  6. Make the necessary changes in the “Edit Group Role” screen.
  7. Click the “Update” button.

To delete a group role:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
  3. Select Group Roles.
  4. Click the three dots icon next to the group role you want to delete.
  5. Choose “Delete”. A confirmation dialog will appear. Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.

To bulk delete group roles:

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Go to Modules in the side navigation menu.
  3. Select Group Roles.
  4. Click the selection icon at the top right next to the group roles title.
  5. Select the roles you want to delete.
  6. Click the X icon that appears at the bottom right.
  7. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
